Snow Day Tortillas

If my pug went out to play in the snow like my neighbor's big lab, we might not see little Rosie's head above the snowdrifts. We're experiencing historic snowfalls here in Arkansas and between the kids gearing up to play outside with their buddies is a constant stream of "I'm hungry..." and "I'm bored."

One of the lessons we learn with Cooking in Bloom is to be self sufficient in the kitchen. So when my daughter wanted tortillas and we were out I suggested she make some herself. Together we looked online for an easy recipe and we found one thanks to the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond.

We decided we would throw in a little of my Italian heritage and use a pasta maker (and if you've had a pasta maker and been wondering about using it, this is a great recipe to give it a try). Dad loves a gadget and couldn't help but jump in and help. Here are some pics from our snow day adventure making Ree's easy tortillas. What is your family discovering together during inclement weather?
